First online training for preparation of transnational peer review participants

Agency for Vocational Education and Adult Education, as the Croatian NRP (National Reference Point), is collaborating with NRP’s from Estonia, Finland and Slovenia on a joint activity Further development of transnational peer reviews – collaboration with Slovenia, Finland and Estonia which is a part of Erasmus+ project Support to the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training National Reference Points (EQAVET NRP). Main aim of this activity is to implement and promote transnational peer reviews as an instrument for quality assurance in vocational education and training (VET). Each of the countries involved in the activity will host a transnational peer review.

To make transnational peer reviews more successful and useful all participants are invited to two training cycles. First training cycle took place on 31st of May 2022, online and lasted for four hours. More than thirty participants attended the training. Participants consisted of members of the NRP project teams of each involved country as well as teachers and other stakeholders from vocational schools in which the transnational peer review will take place. Peer reviews will take place in following schools: Tartu Art school in Estonia, Šolski center Rogaška Slatina in Slovenia, Valkeakoski Vocational College in Finland and Health school Split in Croatia.

Throughout the training all participants were given basic information about peer reviews, what a peer review is, how and why is it conducted and who participates in it. The training was designed as if it were a workshop, so it provided a place for active learning and participating. Participants were delegated in small work groups by the training leader in which they discussed on given topics and were able to share experiences and ideas concerning peer review methodology. After the training participants filled out a feedback questionnaire in which they expressed positive impressions.

Second training cycle will take place on 15th of September 2022. It will be a continuation of the previous training and this new training will concentrate more on practical tasks and activities of peers and schools that will undergo the peer review process. After completing the 2nd online training the transnational peer review process will begin in each country. Transnational peer review in Croatia is planned to take place in the first half of the 2023.
