Peer Learning Activity (PLA) held within the Erasmus + EQAVET project
A peer learning activity on 5th and 6th of December 2017 in Zagreb was organized by the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education. The PLA brought together representatives of the NRPs (National Reference Points) for quality assurance as well as vocational education providers and other bodies responsible for vocational education and training from seven countries.
The topic of this activity was the monitoring of students after high school graduation. The PLA was organized into three thematic blocks discussing ways of collecting, selecting and using data on students' activities after completing their education as one of the important factors for improving the quality of vocational education. The first thematic block discussed what kind of data are to be collected at the institutional and at the level of vocational education providers, while the other block discussed the ways and mechanisms for collecting this data. The last thematic block discussed how to use the collected data for improvement and quality assurance in vocational education and training.
Case studies from Slovenia, Romania, Norway, Ireland, Croatia and Finland, presented at the PLA, stressed that there are different approaches to collecting and processing data related to monitoring of pupils after completion of secondary school, from data collection at institutional level and detailed elaboration mechanisms and statistical data to unsystematized data collection and processing at the provider level. Regardless of diversity, PLA participants concluded that it is extremely important to share best practices and learn from others' experience, which has greatly contributed to this kind of activity. They concluded that it is necessary to link and harmonize the collected data at the national and institutional level, as well as to develop new data collection methods and a quality analysis of all relevant dana.
