Workshop on VET graduate tracking held in Zagreb
Within the EQAVET NRP project, one of the activites relates to the development of basic guidelines for vocational schools students tracking after completing their education with the aim of obtaining feedback on school programs as well as the success of the student after entering the labor market or continuing education. This activity contributes to the alignment of vocational education and training systems with the needs of the labor market, and to schools it serves as an exhaustive source of feedback on implemented programs.
As part of the above mentioned activities, the Agency, in cooperation with an external expert mr.sc. Dubravko Bacalja, organized a two-day workshop on 29 and 30 May 2018 at the Faust Vrancic Mechanical Engineering School in Zagreb, attended by representatives from 12 educational sectors. During the two-day meeting, a proposal of VET graduate tracking in line with the principles of EQAVET was suggested, as well as different ways of monitoring students at the school and system level and the use of acquired data by the school, system or stakeholders. Besides all of the above, the guidelines to implement the monitoring system itself were also clarified in the workshop.
The designed proposal of VET graduate tracking will be piloted in the Secondary school Vice Vlatkovic from Zadar and the Mechanical Engineering School Faust Vrancic from Zagreb on students who completed their education in the school year 2016/2017. After the completion of the monitoring process, each school will, in cooperation with an expert, create a report on the number of students participated in tracking as well as the feedback from the students and teachers. The results obtained are intended to be used for further national debates, but also as a basis for further projects.
